Pg.1 Introduction to my fear of stickers in booklet has images of all my most hasted stickers.

Pg, 2 & 3

Drawings of found stickers on my walk to college

Pg, 4 & 5  more drawings this time is collages the images into the drawings created by different mediums and layered tape to create this rough texture creating for me this unsettling feeling of peeling and mess.

Pg, 6  booklets each displaying images of categorised stickers that I found on my walk to create a cover instead of a label from one photo from each category I pulled the colours from it and created a colour palette for each series.

Pg. 7 a mind map of development ideas I wanted to see all the different I could explore including recommendations from my peers during crits. I split the mind map into two sides one focused on the front image side of a sticker and the back the sticky side. As the sticky side is what I hate most I wanted to take this idea moving forward. This was a useful way to get down all my thoughts.

Pg 8, moulable plastics to begin looking at the theme of sticky I places fur and fibres into the plastic and layered these pieces onto a lint roller.

Pg, 9 here I began to collect lint roller strips and tape which all collected fibres from clothing in which I have sliced and layered creating a mixture of soft and sticky much like when an old sticker starts to peel and collect dust particles which I hate.

Pg, 10 I wanted explore the lint roller more so for each room I created 3 sheet samples of different surfaces in that room and created a small booklet with close up images of the fibres. this is repeated to pg 13

Pg, 14 here I created stitch samples based off the collected particles on the kitchen lint roller samples. I explored the practice of slow stitch for it's calming and distracting qualities. This idea when stitching diverts my thoughts away from when looking at the tape which sends me into a panic. I also really liked the pattern I created when I combined all the different stitches together may revisit this technique!!

Pg, 15

mark making from images and lint rollers

Pg, 16 paired activity when we swapped over our weaves my partner edited my weave and created these three small  tape samples. I really liked the colours and especially the layered effect she created on the one on the far right I didn't consider this effect and made me want to push it.

Pg, 17 before and after weave after paired activity I liked the flecks of threads she added added contrast in tone and thickness and fits well with my research.

Pg, 18 knit sample influenced by partners edit and Olga De Amaral's hairy hair like wall. I also included Joseph Beuys layered piece as it reminded me of Emma's tape piece she created.

Pg, 19 As I liked the layered plastic I created a heat press sample where I trapped strips of lint roller creating a textured tangible sample.

Pg, 20 & 21 drawing of fibres during the knit workshop I created an arm knit the yarns were very fibrous I drew the structure through focusing on the lines of the yarns.

Pg 23, arm knit close up

Pg 24 I wanted to see the fibres larger scale to I projected a piece of thick yarn. To break up the yarn I used a piece of Velcro which most of the yarns got caught in.

Pg 25 & 26 As I liked how the fibres got caught in the Velcro I also tested resin placing fibres inside. I tried to project these but they just produced silhouettes.

Pg, 27 after a tutorial I thought of the idea of testing adhesives based on how they collect fibres and how much damage they do to my knit or weave samples. This idea came from the Velcro due to how it broke up the yarns and collected the fibres much like an old sticker (ew)

I didn't know what to expect from latex but the result was unexpected I rated the latex on stickiness which I go on to do to all my tests.

Pg, 28 & 29 test 2 bluetack

Pg, 30 & 31 Photomount spray

Pg 32 & 33 Velcro

Pg, 34 & 35 Extreme Glue

Pg 36 & 37 Hot Glue

Pg 38 & 39 images from taring video with weave and hot glue sample 2

Pg  40 & 41 Epoxy Resin glue

Pg, 42 & 43 I realised most of my drawings thus far have been very controlled so here I did a double page of marks inspired by my epoxy resin fibres. I drew with left hand blind for a few of the marks made to produce less controlled marks. (even though they do still look very controlled)

Pg, 44 & 45 I explored not really an adhesive but a natural material that damages the surface of textiles and collects fibres very similar to my adhesive tests. Here I rubbed a teasel onto a knit.

Pg 46 & 47 water colour ink and pen mark making responses

Pg 48 following on from the scale workshop I created a small embroidery sample which I photographed around my house. This sparked the idea of creating my own embroidery stickers that I place in a book.
